The Christmas Number 1 winner for 2009 will be announced shortly, with the two main contenders going right down to the wire!
X Factor’s Joe McElderry is fighting it out against a Facebook campaign to try and get Rage Against The Machine’s Killing in the Name to Christmas Number 1.
The winner of X Factor has pretty much been blessed with the Christmas number one single over the last years, but for 2009 that may be set for change following over 750,000 people joining the Facebook group to show their support for RATM.
The Christmas number 1 single for 2009 will be announced shortly before 19:00 on BBC Radio 1’s Chart Show.

The whole point of the campaign is to stop simon cowells monopoly on the charts, to give musicians who actually write their OWN music(and not steal a 16 year old song that she didnt write either) a chance to get a Christmas No1! Dont you think its their dream too?(And im not talking specifically about RATM, im talking bout all the musicans who have spent years honing their song writing skills and then every year they are beat by the winner of a karaoke contest)
